Gillian Maxwell – Entrepreneur Former Director of Flying Tiger Ireland
Gillian Maxwell studied Human Resources and French, and started her career on the IBEC EOP programme in Paris. She returned to Ireland in 1999 and started an outsourced graduate training programme, Metamorphose. In 2002 she followed her passion and joined the organising committee for the 2003 Special Olympics World Summer Games to be held in Ireland, running the DAL programme which provided a bi-cultural or bilingual volunteer for each delegation. This was the best job she ever had!
Davina Saint – Director Passionate Advocate of Diversity
Davina Saint, originally from Wales, is a graduate of the London School of Economics and started her career in Litigation in the City of London.
Davina has worked abroad extensively, moving initially to Hong Kong to further her legal career and subsequently to South Africa to work as a management consultant in the late 90’swhere she worked in heavy industry process re-engineering. Then back to work with ABN Amro Lease Products in the UK as in-house counsel; settling eventually in Ireland in the year 2000 where she began her 20-year career with BNP Paribas.
Samantha Barry – Editor-in-Chief of Glamour Magazine
Samantha Barry is the editor-in-chief of Glamour where she oversees content development and consumer experiences across the brand’s digital, social, video and print platforms. Under her leadership, Glamour focuses on original reporting, exclusive features, and unique perspectives to deliver quality journalism to women, and “own” the conversations impacting them today. Since her start in January 2018, Barry has utilized her digital news background to help the 79-year-old brand launch a #MeToo online hub, hire a team of political reporters, and track exclusive midterm coverage. She has strengthened Glamour’s commitment to body positivity by showcasing size-inclusive models across all channels.
Chanelle McCoy - Co-Founder of Chanelle Medical
Chanelle, Lady McCoy recently ranked no 23 in the ‘50 incredible people shaping modern Ireland’. She co-founded Chanelle Medical, part of the multi-million pound global company Chanelle Pharmaceutical Group based in Galway. Chanelle is the newest dragon on the TV series Dragon’s Den in Ireland and is also married to horseracing legend Sir AP McCoy.
Chanelle Medical & Chanelle Veterinary develop and manufacture generic (copycat) drugs, holding more than 1,500 medical product licenses in over 80 countries. They have won many awards, including Exporter of the Year 2016, Life Sciences Exporter of the Year 2016, Export Innovation of the Year 2016, Winner of ‘Project of the Year’ at the Pharma Industry Awards 2016 and the Ulster Bank Business Achievers Award 2015.
Sahar Hashemi OBE – Co-Founder Coffee Republic
Sahar Hashemi founded Coffee Republic, the UK’s first US style coffee bar chain with her brother and built it into one of the UK’s most recognised high street brands with 110 bars.
Hashemi left the day-to-day management of Coffee Republic in 2001 and published a bestselling book, Anyone Can Do It, which is the second highest selling book on entrepreneurship after Sir Richard Branson.
In 2005 Hashemi founded Skinny Candy, a brand of sugar free sweets which was sold to confectionery conglomerate Glisten in 2007.
Hashemi is currently co-chair of the Government Scale Up Taskforce and is actively involved in the roll-out of Change Please, a social enterprise that trains and hires homeless people to run coffee carts
Jo Fairley - Co-Founder of Green & Black's chocolate company
Jo Fairley is a serial entrepreneur best known for creating the Green & Black’s brand in 1991, which she ran with her husband and which was bought by Cadbury’s in 2005.
She is a award-winning author & journalist, Jo is author of a series best-selling books on health and beauty and is a regular columnist, feature-writer and journalist for the world’s leading magazines.
